Picture: Police line by Roby
About less than 4 hours ago, my 13″ MacBook Pro has been stolen by unknown culprit. It is rather sad situation but I am able to keep myself calm until this very moment. Despite all that, having my Canon EOS 400D and SIGMA 18-200mm DC OS lens sitting next to it is a very interesting story to share.
Back to the topic “What type camera and lens do policeman use?”
About 30 minutes ago, a police investigator with a camera man came. The investigation and inspection went through and they said something like this (translated):
We suspect that once he entered the house, he checked the ground floor and couldn’t find anything. Thus he went up and found (me) sleeping next to my laptop. He quickly grab my laptop and went off afraid that I might wake up.
Enough of the story. Despite the investigation, I took a chance to find out what type of camera the police is using having this intention to share with the LENSA community. This is the possible setup of the police cameraman during the investigation:
Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Lens: Unknown but based on my observation quick observation and research, it is something likeĀ Canon EF 28-70mm f2.8L
Lens hood: Not used
Other kit: Camera strap
Filter: Cannot be confirmed if filter being used
Flash: None (maybe because it is during the day)
What now?
Shit happens but this is not the first time things like this happened to us. One thing for sure: They can take your equipments, but not your passion!

No worries. Thanks mate.
What I can do now is to find several projects to cover the lost assets. I know it is a miracle hoping to get it back, but as we've been through the hardships together.
They can take our equipments, but not our passion! Thank you for your support!
