Big thanks to Fan Pai for sharing this Nikon lens compatibility chart with us. Great stuff this chart is. Makes you know if that old AI-s 20 plus years something lens of yours can actually meter and focus on your D300 or what ever digital back by Nikon which has a lens mount on it. Now the file is at the bottom of this article for you to download as a PDF file.
The cameras start off with the basic digital DSLR’s D40, D40x moving on to D3. D700 and D5000 isn’t in the charts so the D700 belongs in the D3 category and D5000 in the D80 category.
What the chart compares, lens against cameras. Easy enuf to understand eyh?
How the chart works, the naught (o) represents “works with” and the dash (-) represents “not working with”.
