Easy? After years using Photoshop, we just realized that there are various method of resizing photo in it.
The simple and quickest is using the Image Size option, adjust the proportion and you are done. In this article, we will share you the unexplored setting that has been there for years now.
On the Image Size window box, you will find one “rare” section called Resample Image.

The default option is the Bicubic which is best for smooth gradients. However, there are other option if you explore more as follows:

Experiment
We are going to do some experiment with it. The image below is the original image file that will be reduced using 3 different Resample Image options.
And below are the results:
- Nearest Neighbor (preserve hard edges)

- Bicubic (best for smooth gradients)

- Bicubic Sharper (best for reduction)

It seems like, the first one is the worst. But hang on! Check out second experiment — sharp test.

And below are the results with under 300% zoom:
If you have the PPE (Pixel Perfect Eyes), you will notice there is a gray-ish area on the end for the 2nd and 3rd option. For the best reduction that maintain the sharpness of the edge is the 1st which is the Nearest Neighbor option that preserve hard edges.
However, you might not think that hard because usually for normal images won’t be that obvious unless you zoom it like the image above. We just would like to share just incase you need it in the future.
