Types of film
Sun, Sep 6, 2009
In a series of new introductory articles on film, we’ve decided to introduce film photography slowly, not that we’re leaving digital photography. I realized that there’s a myth among users of our time, the Digital generation, which thinks that film photography is hard, that if you use a film SLR, you’re a Pro. And to some extent I did believe that, until I did my own research.
So here I am sharing my passion to you guys out there, just to clear out that film and digital are not separate, but should be considered as a whole.
With that, I’ll start off with introducing you guys to the types of 35mm film available:
Colour Negatives:
Your usual run of the mill camera film widely used by our parents not to long ago. When developed, the image on film strips is in a form of a negative. Go and scourge for your old negatives if you don’t believe me. Processing is by the form of C-41 processing.

Colour slide film:
An opposite of negatives, sometimes referred to as “positives” (em..). As the name indicates, the developed image on the film strip is a positive image, full colour as we took the picture. When mounted can be used to display photos through a slide projector. Slides are known for their saturated colors out of all the types of 35mm film. Kodachrome being one of them. Processed by E-6 colour processing.

Black and White film:
Quite simply, black and white. Need I say more?

haha yea it makes u an owner i guess ; ) apparently black and white is the easiest to develop using 3 chemicals, then colour negative ad tambah chem lg sket but kena constant temp so agak susah, then paling ssh nk develop ialah colour slide film with bnyk gle chem 5 or more i think AND kena constant temp thru out. Susah tuu, no wonder x bnyk kedai cuci slide film( E-6) processing
