Learn lighting from Metallica
Sun, Nov 15, 2009
We are always a fan of the band Metallica. Now, what does Metallica have got to do with photography? We know we’ve posted some concert photography tips but this time, it is not like anything that you will find anywhere else.
For you viewing and listening pleasure, we present you Metallica. If you don’t listen to music, you can mute it and skip to the specified time-line specified in the description below.
Now what we are trying to share here is the fact that timing and lighting can be really crucial. Lighting for this video isn’t displayed from the right angle so we might see the video in a normal mood. But wait until 5:50. That is where the guitar solo starts to come in and the lighting of the stage seems to make an impact.
Now let see if you can derive something more than that? Waiting almost 6 minutes can differentiate from a thousand dollar picture and crap ones? Or should I know the song and know where is the peak of it and be ready?
Who says we cannot learn about photography from Metallica. Rock!
